Valentine's Day Cooking 101

The first signs of spring are starting to show in the Northwest, I for one could not be happier.
Maybe it is the love (or pollen) in the air that has me thinking about taking on the challenge
 of a Valentine's day dinner.
 For the first time...ever.

Is this culinary endeavor intimidating? Honestly, yeah. A little. I am not a chef!
Thanks to my friends at Pinterest  I have uncovered a few ideas that I am looking forward
to exploring. Lets take a look at a more creative approach to making dinner.

recipe for beet-and-goat-cheese-heart via "The Tomato Tart"

The presentation here is just so right.
I cannot deny this roasted beet and goat cheese napoleon as an excellent start to any dinner.
I am thinking about using golden and red beets to build my tower.
Hop over to The Tomato Tart for an easy to follow recipe.

If you are like me, you have a significant other who's idea of dinner is meat and potatoes.
Never underestimate the power of a heart shaped cookie cutter.
It will take a bit of effort, but your meat dish will never look so sweet.

For the main dish - something fresh, healthy and easy to prepare.
A beautiful pink salmon encrusted with Parmesan and herbs.
The recipe for this dish can be found at  Add A Pinch.

This idea found on Shared might be the best dessert ever.
Forget conversation hearts, meet your new adorable and intoxicating best friend -
wine fruit snacks! Best yet, they are beyond easy to make.

I am feeling ready to try out these ideas.
Hope you too are bit more inspired to try something creative in the kitchen this valentine's day.
