Dare To

Dare to drop what no longer serves you.
Dare to remember the good. Dare to make a change.
Dare to keep positive thoughts in a sea of negativity.
Dare to make new goals. Dare to take action.
Dare to find motivation for the new week.

An Oregon Spring Daycation

Star Bunny Studio 2014

Spring is in the air.
The sun is out, the birds are singing, and the flowers are in bloom.
All of this is spreading a major case of Spring Fever.

But, what if you do not have the time to jet off to a tropical paradise for a Spring Break?
One remedy for this is a Spring Daycation.
Pinterest recently asked, if you had 24 hours to play hooky what would you see and do?
This question has me plotting a Daycation of my own.

In the state of Oregon spring marks the start of many outdoor activities.
The rivers are raging with spring snow melt offering opportunities for rafting and kayaking.

If you prefer to stay dry, the spring snow melt has many of the waterfalls in Oregon flowing
a full force. A hike on the numerous trails in the national forests will lead you
to unexpected discoveries.

If you enjoy life at higher elevation, the gem of the cascades Mt.Hood sits at 11,250 feet.
Offering a drive that starts with charming fruit orchards and climbs to breath taking vistas.

Another option is a drive to the Pacific Ocean where adventure and relaxation mix
in perfect harmony. 363 miles of unbroken coastline make up the Oregon coast.
Here, a day at the beach is anything but ordinary!

So, what would you do with 24 hours for a Daycation?

Positive Focus

Star Bunny Studio 2014

Diverting attention to distractions is the easiest way to become sidetracked.
Distractions come in many forms, one of the hardest to ignore are other people.
Many people may have good intentions, but what is right for one is not right for all.

We all have that family member or friend who we may love, but is just not good for us.
The person who depends on others to do things they could easily do for themselves.
The person who to talks negatively about others.
The person who always makes the wrong choices.
The person who has substance abuse issues.
The person who clings to abusive situations.
The person who is destructive and abusive.

We all want to best for those we care about. A simple fact remains,
Try as you may - there is only one person you can change.
That person is you.

Determination and focus are critical tools that will help us to meet our goals.
Your thoughts are important, shine through the darkness.
Do not allow other people to hinder your own personal progress

The Pacific Coast

Photo By Star Bunny Studio 2014

The wild beauty of the pacific coast is a true gift.
The rugged coast line offers a window to unspoiled nature.
Here, a day at the beach is an opportunity to connect with the ocean in a unique way.

The end of the day approaches softly.
A great blue heron basks in the last rays of sunlight hitting the rocky shoreline.
This day at the beach comes to a close.

A Simple Truth

There is a fine line between letting go, and avoiding.
It may seem simpler at times to shut down and disconnect.
If issues are dealt with head on, and solutions are found, issues cease to be.
Find your courage, hold your truth, and focus on the long run.
Have a fearless week!

On the west coast, of the USA, Spring has arrived ahead of schedule.
Early spring rains have encouraged colorful blossoms to bloom.
Nature is awakening from the slumber of winter in a beautiful display.

In a little corner of the park sits this rock featuring a plaque with the quote,

" I Will Find A Bit Of Joy In Every Day."
- Mary Blakely

A great reminder to actively engage with life, and seek all that gives you joy.

Continue To Start Over

A new week as arrived, giving us all an opportunity to start anew.
Taking time to refocus and start over is helpful from time to time.

Circumstances have the ability to throw monkey wenches into the gears of life.
It can seem overwhelmingly difficult to continue on in the same manner as before
life circumstances erupted. While it is never easy, changing thought patterns can
bring a new energy into life. We are what we think. Our thoughts have the ability
to make heaven out of hell, or hell out of heaven. It is up to ones self to make the choice.
What will you choose?
